Dry Needling
Using a thin, sterile needle, we treat trigger points: hardened, overactive spots in a muscle that cause pain and restrict your movement. You often feel more freedom in the muscle straight away.

When
What does it help with?
- Muscle pain and stiffness that don't go away with stretching or massage
- Radiating pain from the neck, shoulder, back or buttock
- Headaches originating from the neck and shoulder muscles
- Recurring calf, hamstring or groin complaints in athletes
- Overload from training, work or posture
How we work
What to expect
Examination
We locate the muscles and trigger points causing your complaint.
Treatment
The needle is briefly inserted into the trigger point. This is often followed by a short, local contraction of the muscle: the "twitch".
After the treatment
The muscle may feel a little stiff for a day or two, like muscle soreness after exercise.
Exercise
We combine dry needling with exercises so the complaint doesn't come back.
Questions
Good to know
Does it hurt?
You barely feel the needle itself. The muscle contraction can be briefly tender.
Is it acupuncture?
No. Dry needling is based on Western anatomy and targets trigger points in the muscle, not meridians.
Does it cost extra?
No. Dry needling is part of a regular or extended session, without a surcharge.
Is it reimbursed?
If you have supplementary insurance, the treatment is reimbursed, depending on your package. For certain chronic conditions, the basic insurance pays from the 21st treatment, with a referral. Read more under rates.
