Privacy statement
As a physiotherapy practice, we work with sensitive information about your health. Here you can read which data we process, why, and what rights you have.

Who we are
InstantFysio is a physiotherapy practice in Amsterdam Zuidoost. We are responsible for processing your personal data as described in this statement.

Which data we process
- Name, address, date of birth and contact details
- Citizen service number (BSN) and your health insurance details
- Information about your health: your complaints, examination results, treatment plan and progress of the treatment
- Details of your referrer, such as your GP or specialist, if you have a referral
- Messages you send us via WhatsApp, email or phone
Why we process your data
We process your data so we can treat you properly and because the law requires us to. Specifically:
- Your treatment. As physiotherapists, we are required by the Medical Treatment Contracts Act (WGBO) to keep a record.
- Billing. To claim your treatment from your health insurer or to invoice you.
- Legal obligations. Healthcare providers are required to use your BSN and to verify your identity.
- Contact. To schedule appointments and answer your questions.
Who we share data with
We only share your data when this is necessary for your treatment or required by law:
- Your health insurer, to claim your treatment.
- Your GP or specialist, for example a report on your treatment. We only do this with your consent.
- Service providers we use, such as our electronic patient record and calendar (Fysiomanager). We have agreements with them on the security and confidentiality of your data.
- Qualizorg (Qualiview), if you receive a questionnaire about your experience with our care. Taking part is voluntary.
We never sell your data to third parties.
How long we keep data
We keep your medical record for 20 years after the last change. This is a legal requirement. Other data, such as messages about scheduling an appointment, are not kept longer than necessary.
Security
We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures. Only healthcare providers involved in your treatment have access to your record.
Be careful with WhatsApp and email. Preferably use WhatsApp and email only to schedule an appointment. We prefer to discuss medical details during your appointment.
Online physio check
On our website you can take the physio check by Hierhebikpijn.nl. The data you enter there is processed by Hierhebikpijn.nl. Please also read the privacy statement of Hierhebikpijn.nl.
Cookies and external services on this website
This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies itself. We do load fonts from Google Fonts, which sends your IP address to Google. The physio check by Hierhebikpijn.nl may place its own cookies.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- view your record and receive a copy;
- have incorrect data corrected;
- ask us to delete your data, insofar as the legal retention obligation allows;
- object to the use of your data, or have its use restricted;
- have your data transferred to another healthcare provider.
Send your request to info@instantfysio.nl. We respond within one month. We may ask you to verify your identity.
A complaint about privacy
Do you disagree with how we handle your data? Please contact us first, and we will look for a solution together. You can also file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
